Serena Hall's vibrant paintings are all about surface colour and pattern. She loves to experiment with colour relationships by layering swatches of colour one after another.
Her broad brushstrokes and big use of colour is typical of her style. She enjoys collecting vintage textiles, shells, coastal paraphernalia and folk art toys of which also inspires
her choice of colour and pattern on the canvas.
Serena says her love of colour comes from her memories of Mediterranean holidays, and her subject matter the landscape and sketches taken her daily coastal walks in Southwold.
By intriguingly mixing the two she hopes to create original and unique paintings by simply painting what she loves.
